A Very Average X'mas!

A very Merry X'Mas to all you lovely people out there! As cliche as it may sound, this is the season of giving and of course receiving! I am so glad the day has finally arrived and all the Xmas shopping, cracking your head over what will be the perfect gift to buy or how much to spend so that you do not poke too big of a hole into your wallet! I hope you guys have received many presents and got what you wished for! ( I did a pre - Xmas photoshoot as the place was simply too beautiful to resist!)

For this Xmas of mine, I always spend it with my family and I believe so do many of you. Usually, we would spend literally the entire day out and take advantage of every second this festive day has to offer. However, as I grow older and also lazier I wanted it to be kinda chill and relax. Not forgetting, so far 2016 has really screwed me up in ways I didn't know it was possible. So to not disappoint myself too much on this day my family and I decided to head to Gardens by the Bay in Singapore for their Xmas themed event. Honestly, I wasn't really into going but I do want to get into the mood and spirit of Xmas and get some Xmas vibes going!

To my luck, not long after arriving at the place it started to pour and it literally rained on my parade! God help me! I should have stayed at home! There was a sheltered area nearby where inside the place there are wintery activities like ice sliding, ice skating and a snow playground for kids, however, one has to purchase a ticket before entering ( as if the didn't leech enough money off of our entrance fee they are charging for activities inside as well). People were swarming into the sheltered place I was talking about and those who do not have the ticket were not allowed to enter( luckily we went ahead and purchase a ticket). People were pushing and shoving their way through the place, and I too was forced to push my way through! What an awesome way to bask in the spirit of Xmas, by pushing and shoving!

Well, the rain did not stop but it reduced to a light shower. Though the day did not turn out as expected but it was still nice to spend Xmas with my family. the remaining few days of 2016 seemed bleak and I do not hold high expectations for it to be smooth for me.

Notice how I attempt to dress to the occasion with Xmas colours! I am so in love with my sweater from Bershka! I swear the place is now on my top shopping list for shops to visit aside from Uniqlo, H&M and Topman!

Hey December!

OH MY GOSH!!! It is already the month of December and 2016 is about to come to an end! I am so sorry for not posting in like aeons, and I am not going to give any excuses about how busy I was ( See what I did there ><) However, I am back and ready to blog like there's no tomorrow ( Do not take that too literally .... )

December has been my favourite time of the year, not only because the year is ending and exams are over but the also the most festive time of the year.  Aside Holloween being one of my favourite occasion but second to that I in love with Christmas. You know it is already December when you walk down the streets of Orchard Road ( the shopping district in Singapore) and you notice the amazing Christmas decor and the beautiful lights hung across the streets, this simply screams photo shoot opportunity.I thoroughly enjoy the joy of giving and how Christmas vibes fill the air. A season of giving and happiness, a warm and fuzzy feeling I couldn't put in words.

I love doing my Christmas shopping early as I love to customise the gifts I am giving to. I am not a fan to simply buying any gifts for the sake of giving one, but putting thought and effort into the gifts and the thought process as to whether the person will be using it ( So that I will not waste my money on some useless gifts which will ultimately be forgotten or put aside). Hence, if any of you guys are like me you will understand how disastrous will be if I do my Christmas shopping last minute. Have any of you guys started doing your Christmas shopping yet? Buying gifts for your best friends are the easiest as you know them so well and you kinda have an idea what they like or you have reached a level of friendship where you just ask what do they want for Christmas. Moreover, there are plenty of Christmas sales and for a shopaholic like myself, it is simply heaven.

Feeling Strange?

Has any of you guys watched Dr Strange already? I mean come on it was so awesome right?! This year is just jammed packed with DC and marvel movies, aside from the newly aired Dr Strange movie, Wonder Woman the movie is about to be in theaters soon! This is a year for all superhero fans out there. For someone like me who got interested in superheroes only just a few years back, I am super excited!

*Spoiler Alert*

*From Google.com*

Dr Strange is a kaleidoscopic action sequence, infused with humor which will definitely keep you not only at the edge of your seats but a stomach  ache with all the laughter.  Strange, a hotshot and arrogant  neurosurgeon, got in a serious car crash due to his recklessness and stupidity ( in my opinion), which renders his hands beyond the state of restoration. Desperately pursuing any possible road to recovery, he tracks down , a former paraplegic who advises him to seek out the Kamar-Taj. There, he met the Ancient One and fellow student Karl Mordo who found Strange and had once experienced a similar predicament as him.

Throughout his stay, Strange learned about a fallen pupil who stole pages from a spellbook of the Ancient one, who desires and was blindly let by the "Dark one "  to merge Earth with the Dark Dimension to attain eternal life. Strange possess  a high level of intellect which enabled him to absorb the myriad knowledge the Ancient one offered.

Long story short, Strange managed to save the earth. I personally enjoyed this movie, not only because it is a superhero movie but how one should not view his shortcomings as his limitation to do what you want. The mental strength of one can bring you places, I myself is a far cry away from achieving any mental positivity.

A rating of 4/5 for me:)

Since the autumn season has approached which is my favorite season by the way! I decided to dress something very cozy and you know a very autumn-ish style.  I also decided to go for a rather muted green colour as compared to a brighter green. Though usually this season many will opt for fall colours but I decided to go for something different. With the inspiration from Dr Strange as he wore the long red cape , I too wore a similar long-ish outerwear to feel "strange" (my failed attempt in cosplay).

Dream Big! Fight Hard!

We all have dreams. However, how much we want to get that dream achieve is the question we should all ask ourselves. Many of us simply sit in hope that our dream falls nicely into our laps or just put in that little bit of effort for that dream and that's it.

I have this amazing friend of mine who dreamt of making it big in the media world and in hope that one day he can make himself and his parents proud! Not long ago that friend of mine took that big leap of faith and entered an acting competition.

His amazing acting skills put him through the live shows. I think I can say on his behalf that making into the live shows just seem totally surreal and that feeling of accomplishment is beyond words. I mean I would do anything to be on TV, I am oozing with amazing acting skills (HAHAHA kidding).

He fought long and hard and ultimately made it into the finals! Having been able to make it this far into the competition is something I believe he was damn proud of! We all should strive for our dreams regardless of what the results may be.

We may fail along the way, but hey not all of us are that lucky to succeed on the first try. As cliche as it may sound, we all learn and become stronger through the failures we face. Albert Einstein did not just discover electricity on his first try. Failures may be hard to digest and sometimes we may feel defeated and it may felt like a punch to the face for not succeeding. Well, that's life for you and when life hits you hard in the gut you fight back harder than before and in the end when you have finally succeed you are impeccable and nothing can ever sway you.

A big shout-out to my friend who has not only show me that we must not only dare to dream but dare to go out there and fight for it as well. His undying will and resilience have taught me that nothing in this world is impossible as long as we fight hard enough and this should be a lesson to all of you guys out there as well. We all should have that fiery passion for us to achieve what we want for ourselves. Keep on fighting and keep being awesome.

Huh? What is an Art-Science Museum!

Any of you guys out there loves visiting museums? Well, I am not much of an enthusiast for visiting museums but I am a sucker for art or anything artsy.

I've heard of this art-science museum that is available in Singapore I was like huh? What is an art-science museum? Is it something similar to the Science Centre that we have in Singapore? I know I sound like a bimbo for thinking that the art-science museum is the same as the Science Centre.

With very little knowledge of the art-science museum as I did see pictures from friends who went and visit the museum, I kinda knew what I will get to see. My main purpose for going to the museum is mainly because of the Instagram-able photos I will get to take, but let's just stick with the idea of me wanting to be more cultivated in the art aspect.

The ticket price for a Singapore student to  enter the gallery costs about $11. ( For non-student or non-citizen ticket prices kindly proceed to the reception counter for the information)

Upon entering the gallery I was greeted with darkness. It was really dark and I can hardly see much. My first thought was, " Are they cheating my money! How am I suppose to see anything in the dark!?"

However, once I proceeded deeper into the gallery I began to understand why the place was dark. I mean they use the advanced technological progress of Science to project a visual and holographic images. The beautiful combination of art and science in one.  Not revealing too much of the gallery ( So that you guys will head down to the museum and see for yourself ><), one can certainly expect both an eye-opening experience as well as an interactive session.

To be honest the exhibition was kinda short and we were able to finish the entire museum very quickly.

I will recommend to you guys to visit it at least once and that's it (Not sure if the exhibition is still on-going). To those who have children, I will definitely recommend you to bring them as if I am not mistaken the entry for a child is free and inside the museum, there are a lot of activities for children to play and it's super child-friendly!

No More Broken Hearts Tonight!

2016 has flown by so fast and it's already almost the end of September! The past 9 moths of 2016 for me has definitely been a roller coaster ride.    I have experienced the joyous part in the past 9 months but also have experienced the doleful part in the short span of 9 months as well. You guys may have already guessed by now this post is yet another rant of the recent event that has happen.

p.s Do skip this post if you are here for fashion or lifestyle post.

Has any of you guys had your heart broken or has been "cheated"  on?
I have never been in the dating scene much and am rather new to it.  Not long ago I met someone on an online dating site and after a few days or so of chatting we decided to meet.

The person I met on the day of the "date" was super nice and very warm and friendly.  The entire "date" went really well and dare I say it was AWESOME! Not revealing too much information or details of what happen in between and long story short I recently just found out the person I went out with was double dating and I was being led on.

I mean I am not one to say I am a good judge of people but most of the time my friends can say that I am a good judge of people and their character. Hence, I am the one that they come to when the want to date someone new or want to know if the person can be befriended.  Going back to my broken heart story.  You guys may think that since I am a good judge of character and people why didn't I see it coming. The sad truth is that I did see it coming but I chose to ignore it and instead with going with what my brain tells me I chose to go with my heart. I bet this has happened to many of you guys out there. Where we know something is wrong or not trustable and that our brain is telling us not to go ahead and do it but for some stupid and crazy reasons we always go with our heart. There's nothing wrong with going with what our heart tells us to do but sometimes we have to know when to listen to our intuition as well.

When we blindly follow what our hearts chooses we may ultimately get hurt and it is much harder to fix a broken heart than anything. When faced with a broken heart one cannot simply be healed completely as a broken heart takes time to heal and even if it has healed there will always be a scar. That scar will always serve as a constant reminder to be wary the next time. We will always have that nagging feeling and a barrier when we try meeting someone new as we are afraid of getting hurt the same way again.

Having close friends or even family members with you in the time of healing is paramount and it serves as a distraction from your broken heart.

Luckily the time spent with the person was short, and the process of finding out felt as tho a band-aid being ripped out fast. Tho is may be fast but the after effect of the ripped band-aid does leave behind a momentary pain.

Lesson learnt here is to be careful of who you meet online and never never never judge a book by its cover. Not forgetting to listen not only to your heart but listen to your intuition (Brain) as well. Wanting to cry or  depress about such situations are what makes us human.  Feeling different emotions are humanly things and what makes us stronger is how we succumb to these emotions and be stronger the next time.

Side note: I have stumble upon a Demi Lovato song call Warrior and it totally describes how one should be when faced with a broken heart.

Stay tuned to my upcoming post on my trip to the art science museum.

Themed Cafes!!!

Themed Cafes.... Anybody likes themed cafes as well. Well I am not a hardcore enthusiast of themed cafes, but I do enjoy and appreciate how cafes have a theme as it kinda brings out the inner geek in me ><

I do not know of many themed cafes in Singapore as my themed cafes knowledge pool is rather limited.  Those that I heard and known of are the Hello Kitty Cafe located at Changi Airport , the Superhero cafe at Marina Bay Sands and the Pokemon Cafe that was at Bugis area for a brief period of time.

Usually, these themed cafes are very popular as the cafe are not only decorated with Pokemon or Hello Kitty decorations but the food is shaped like the character. The food sold at these themed cafes are  super duper pricey as we not only pay for the food but the "brand" of eating food shaped like our loved characters. Not forgetting the ridiculously long queues where the waiting time can go on for 2 hours!

However, I have stumbled upon a themed cafe call Pompompurin cafe located at Orchard Gateway, if I'm not mistaken.  Pompompurin is a character from Hello Kitty and is also one of Hello Kitty's friend (As I was told by a friend). The cafe had a yellow and white colour theme and is also decorated with many Pompompurin characters. The surprising thing about this cafe is that the food prices are not that expensive, and very much priced similarly to most other restaurants or cafes.

Since I went on a weekday there was no queue ><  Also in light of the fall season now, the cafe has some sort of promotion where if one orders a dish with the Pompompurin min mug in it gets to get that mini mug for free ( They will give you a brand new mug). I mean come on! Singaporeans like me loves free stuff!

I just had desserts while I was there as I ordered a five layers pancake dish. I am no foodie, hence I may not be the best person to ask for food opinions or suggestions.  However, based on my amateur criticism I can say that the food is not very bad and it was kinda average. I mean most themed cafes' food are quite horrible but are priced super high because of the "brand" but for this Pompompurin cafe,  the dessert that I tried was not bad at all.

I will recommend to you guys to give it a try or for those who wants to go to a themed cafe and be part of the "cool" crowd and want to experience the whole themed cafe vibe, I will definitely ask yall to give it a try. At least you won't burn that big of a hole in your wallet.
