Suicide Squad Review!

I have been waiting for the right time to post this. Well, I am giving my thoughts and reviews on the movie Suicide Squad!

*Disclaimer: For those who still have not watched the movie, this post may have spoilers. Proceed and read with caution and also hurry and go watch the movie!*

I watched the movie about two weeks ago with my Nithiyah (One of me Best Friend) , who happened to be a big DC fan as well. Hence, it only made sense that I got to watch this movie with her right?

As far as I know and heard from some of my friends that the movie that was airing is the third edited version and that the first and second version of the movie was way better. Most of my friends who have watched the movie felt that the movie was bad and it was equally bad as the movie Batman VS Superman or Civil War! As they felt that the cinematography was bad and so was the story line. I feel that we kinda have too high of an expectation, which we will be let down at the end when it is not what we expected it to be.

However, I have a different opinion and I actually felt that the movie was super awesome. I mean I know I do not have an eye in the cinematography of a movie but I still hold a certain standard in the movies I choose to watch.

First of all, let us all address the fact that Jared Leto is the most amazing actor ever and I don't know about yall but I felt that he played the role of the Joker perfectly and was on point! I can really feel the madness and the craziness he was emitting, portraying the personalities of the Joker himself.  He gives a very refreshing twist to the character and believe me when I say that I was actually terrified of him, and you guys have to admit as well that he plays a rather HOT Joker.

Coming back to the main character that we all came to watch (or at least I did) - Harley Quinn which was played by Margot Robbie.  Harley Quinn plays both a villain and a hero in the movie where every sees her as the bad girl who goes around Gotham city with her Puddin (AKA Joker) but throughout the movie she was somewhat forced into playing the hero where she ultimately saved the day. Being forced into madness by the Joker, she gives off a carefree vibe where she simply disregards her life in most situations. In my opinion, this is rather ironic where we all may have noticed that she was dressed rather strict and uptight with her hair tied up neatly and wearing a somewhat formal outfit but after being driven mad she was dressed in cropped shirt and a super short and tight shorts with her iconic red and blue hair. After being brainwashed by the joker she showcased a side of her which I believed she hid it all this while, as there must be a "dark" and mad side buried in her for her to find the Joker appealing and ultimately to fall in love with.

Not forgetting the other iconic characters of the Squad, where they shared the same predicament as Harley. Each individual in the squad possesses a hidden yearn for being the best they can be. Such as Deadshot's yearn to be the father his daughter always wanted or Diablo and KillerCroc's wish to be normal. Each of them has a hidden hero side that wants to be exhibited to compensate what they are flawed in.

All in all, I really enjoy the movie and the storyline. I like the idea of how the ancient enchantress wished to be worshiped like how she was before but highlighted the fact that we humans are worshipping machines instead nowadays. Which is true to a large extent, as in this era we heavily relying on machines and technology to run of daily needs which is kinda sad.

The movie is filled with action, laughs as well as tears to all who watched it.

There's Nothing Like IKEA!

Do you guys love going to IKEA as much as I do? I mean that place provides literally everything, by everything I mean from household furniture to super cheap food and also an awesome place to take your OOTDs.

Having the compulsive need to take an awesome OOTD was what excites me to go to IKEA, aside from the cheap food. I went to IKEA @ Tampanies with two of my best friends, Saranya and Nithiyah. Being best friends means that we share the same thirst for the perfect OOTD shots with the best background.

We did some googling and research to scout for the best place for any Instagram-worthy place. We stumbled upon a blog from The Smart Local which lists out all the Instagram-worthy place we can go in Singapore. Do go check out their site as they write about more interesting stuff such as food places.

Not only is IKEA an ideal place for photos but a place for three best friends to fool and play around. Yes, we did  create a nuisance of ourselves but come on how can you "behave" yourself when you are with your best friends. You guys can definitely relate as well when you are with your best friend you just let loose and let all your crazy out. Your best friends are the ones that will never judge as they are as crazy and retarded as you.

We literally went to every inch of IKEA in search of the best background for our OOTD.

I do recommend you guys to go to IKEA not to only to get furniture for your home or enjoy the food but to take advantage of the place and take photos ><

We did a mini trailer video as well below, I mean it's amateur stuff but it was fun making it.

USS Addiction!

Hi my name is Roydon and I am a USS-holic! If you guys have been reading my blog posts since last year, you may know that I had an annual USS (Universal Studios Singapore) pass. Now guess what! I have yet again purchase another USS season pass and this time I have gotten the express season pass, meaning I am able to enter the express lane for a much faster and shorter queue. Having the express pass made me feel as though I am an important personnel and I feel more superior than all the "commoners".

I went with two of my best friends, Saranya and Jolyn. Saranya has already gotten a season pass but without the express privileges whilst Jolyn and I actually had the one-day-ticket. However, for some reason, Jolyn had this super spontaneous decision to purchase an express season pass. I mean being a spontaneous person myself (sarcasm intended) I too was excited to purchase an express pass. I got the express pass at a student price at SGD$188 whilst the normal season pass at student price would be at SGD$88. ( For non-student priced season passes for either express or non-express kindly head to the Resorts World USS website or seek information from the counter whilst you are there.)

It was sad and a missed opportunity as Saranya who is holding a normal season pass was not entitled to the express privileges and being an awesome and caring friend that I am, we queued with her through the normal queue. The queue that day was rather long and one can expect the wait to be boring and long as hell. However, the entire time we were queuing for the rides it went by super fast, maybe it was because we were talking nonsenses with each other most of the time.  The perks of going to such places with your best friends as they can make your entire Theme park experience even  more fulfilling and entertaining.

After an exhaustive day at USS we headed down to Vivocity (the mall located near USS) for some Thai food. We went to a Thai restaurant called Thai Accent and the food and service there is top notch, at least in my opinion that is.  The price was reasonable for the dishes the offer with respectable food servings. I truly recommend to you guys to try out the food there.

Do stay tune for my next USS post as I yet again went to USS recently with my bestie Jolyn and made used of our express privileges.

Pokemon Go Craziness in Singapore!

Hi guys :)  For today's blog post it will just be me sharing my thoughts and views on stuff I have on my mind.

Well, many of you may or may not know that Pokemon Go has just been released in Singapore as of 06/08/16. I mean I did not really understand the craziness of the game when I see posts or videos online about how the game gets people hooked and how much people are willing to go to catch a Pokemon and to me, it was just stupid. Hence, when Pokemon Go was released, of course, I had to join in the fun and craziness of the game. I have to admit, it was indeed very addictive and super fun. I have quite a few poke stops just below my block and it was no surprise at all as I am staying right in front of a park. Therefore, I was super happy that I did not have to walk far to find a poke stop.  When I headed down to visit the poke stops I was shocked to see the amount of people camping around at the area waiting to catch a Pokemon.

The interesting part was that we can tell that all of us are playing the same game, as we walked passed each other as we exchanged smirks and smiles. There were friendly conversations made as people are sharing tips and information on where they had caught their Pokemon. I have to admit it was a different part of Singapore I never imagine myself seeing. It was both heart-warming and sad at the same time, sad because people only began to connect with strangers through an app game. Signs, how technology has made the world smaller and bigger at the same time.

I myself and my sister are hooked by the game and we went on our merry Pokemon adventure around the neighbourhood. I am on level 9 now and part of Tema Mystic ( My sister is on Team Mystic as well).  To all my Singaporean friends and Pokemon Goers out there please be safe and mindful as to where you are going. I mean it is after all the Chinese 7th month (The Chinese version of Halloween aka Ghost Festival aka Hungry Ghost festival where it is mostly for the Chinese Buddist where they pray and lay out food for their ancestors as this is said to be the month where the ghosts are released from hell and are able to freely roam the mortal world). Do try your best not to stay out too late as you may catch "other" things other than a Pokemon ><

However, the sad truth is that I got bored of it rather fast as I am not patient and I refuse to stand nor walk to hatch an egg or wait for a Pokemon which is not a Ratata or a Pigey to appear. I also kinda found it repetitive as the goal to me basically was to level up, evolve and catch new Pokemon to complete the Pokedex. I do however prefer the handheld version of the classic Pokemon game, which is much more interesting in my opinion.

I am, however, addicted to this game called Best Fiends! I have been hearing recommendations from multiple Youtubers to download and play the game as they themselves are addicted and are severely enjoying the game as well. It was the best decision of my life! The game does not even require data to play. Hence, when you are out and about you can play the game as well, or when you are in the public toilet doing your business you can sit there for hours playing it non-stop. I seriously recommend to all of you guys out there to try out this game!

Disclaimer: All my views and thoughts about either Pokemon Go or Best Fiends are solely my own opinions and point of view. I am in no way being disrespectful or paid in any way to say about any of the above games. Regardless, I am playing both games happily and are addicted to both games and what I said are based solely my views on the games after having to be playing them or what I have been observing.

Goodbye Australia! ( Day 12 & Day 13)

Sorry for not posting a post for the past few days! Well, I'm back and this post will be about my last two days in Sydney as well as in Australia.

I went and visited Town Hall as it was said to be where the shopping hub is. If you know me, you'll  know that I am a shopaholic and I was, of course, overwhelmed with all the shops and the sales! For me to shop around Sydney in two days was definitely not enough and I regretted not extending my stay just for the shopping.

Remember I mentioned in my previous posts that I met my High school friend, who happened to be in Australia visiting her boyfriend. Well, we managed to meet each other on my last day in Sydney and we went on a shopping spree as well as a hearty lunch together. She and her boyfriend brought me to this SiChuan Hotpot place. The food was great, especially the soups as we ordered two different types of soup based, one is the SiChuan hot soup while the other is the non-spicy chicken essence soup. The thing is that my friend is very Indian and her spice tolerance is exceptionally off  the charts crazy, and she kept saying that the SiChuan soup can be spicier and ask for more chili to be added into the soup. I, on the other hand, was dying after my friend requested to add in more chili on the first time and I immediately switched to the chicken soup instead. It was a suitable time to be eating something so spicy and warm as it was raining on that day and the weather was relatively cold, hence, making out hotpot experience even more satisfying and enjoyable.

The friend who came with me to Australia had a separate activity from me as he headed down for a Blue mountain tour whilst I was shopping happily with my High School mate. However, we did meet up with each other for dinner when he joined my High School friend and I. Before I meet up with my friend, I went on a Ferris wheel ride with my high school mate. It was the coolest Ferris wheel ride ever, as we were able to spin our cabin 360 and get a better view of the scenery around us. The Ferris wheel ride was located at Darling Habour and it cost us about AUD$8 each.

To end off not only a very enjoyable day in Sydney but also our last day in Australia, we went for a beef dinner coupled with beer to sort of drown our sorrows as we have to depart Australia the next day!

When the day, for our departure from Australia arrives we carried our heavy hearts to the airport as we waited for our flight. Mind you, every second I was at the airport I felt as though my heart was being eaten bit by bit.

To conclude my 13 days of travel experience in Austraila, I will put it all in just one word - Unforgettable! The people there were super friendly and nice all the time, where it gave me a very warm feeling which made me feel very welcome and homely. A very beautiful country with beautiful scenery and people. Even though I did not manage to do all that I wanted on my itinerary and did not manage to visit more of Australia, I will surely return for more! Being there, it felt like as though I had no worries and felt totally relax. Comparing Singapore to Australia, I would say Australia, of course, which had 100 times better service than Singapore. For example, I was at USS on Friday(04/08/16). My friends wanted to ask the people working at the ride if they could possibly switch the lane they are at as they saw that the first row was not taken. Do you know how the employee responded? Well, he told my friends;" You cannot see Ah, the lane close". What he said left my friends totally speechless, I mean could you not have been more polite (Stay tuned for my USS adventure post). Whilst in Australia, I experienced a totally different kind of treatment, as the employees there were so friendly no matter how annoying we may be or how troublesome we may be, they were super patient and polite in addressing our issues. A friend of mine who recently just came back from Japan and who also accompanied me to USS said that the service here in Singapore in seriously bad. Comparing with an Asian country like Japan with another Asian country like Singapore, we are able to see a stark difference in the services of these two countries. Being back here in Singapore, really made me missed the lifestyle of Australia. The city life of Sydney is way better than that of Singapore.

Sydney Ventures! (Day 10 & Day 11)

In continuation, of the hot-air balloon day we were flying to Sydney the very same day as well.
We took a domestic flight with Jetstar to Sydney in the night after on the day of our hot-air balloon activity. The flight to Sydney from Gold Coast was about an hour or so. Having to say goodbye to Gold Coast after she had provided us with 9 days of unending fun was hard for us to part with, on top of that it also meant that our Aussie adventures were about to come to an end as we will be spending only three days in Sydney.

Upon our arrival in Sydney at around 2020Hrs, we were picked up by our driver to our Air BnB apartment. We were staying in Krribil which is located at the north part of Sydney ( I was told, apologies if I am mistaken). I was very pleased with our Air BnB apartment and location. The place was very cozy and clean, moreover, the area we stayed was very quiet and relaxed. We have a clear view of the Sydney Opera House from our apartment and it was of travelling distance to the nearest MRT station. Not to mention, my friend from high school who happen to be in Sydney as well whilst visiting her boyfriend came to visit me and told me that we were staying just two houses away from the Australian Prime-minster.

The first day of our Syndey adventures we have a leisure walk from our apartment and walked across the Harbour Bridge to where the Opera House was.

When we arrived at the Opera House I was really looking forward to it as I was very excited to finally be able to see the Opera House in person. However, when I was at the Opera House itself I was not that thrilled as it was kinda average looking in my opinion at least. As I was seriously expecting more of the Opera House in terms of it architectural design ( not saying that the architectural design was not already great.

I practically spent the entire day at the Opera House with my travel buddy. To spice up our day at the Opera House we witness a true madness of Pokemon Go! You may not know but for Singapore, the Pokemon Go is still not available yet and I still have not gotten the chance to be part of the Pokemon Go Craze. However, when I was at the Opera House the place was literally crawling with people who were playing Pokemon Go, there was literally about a hundred or so people just sitting around the Opera House playing Pokemon Go! Every inch of the Opera House there were people on their phones    not texting but playing Pokemon Go!

Up Up and Away!

Do like the movie UP? The amazing hot-air balloon house that he made was just stunning and I bet you wished you could get in one of those hot-air balloon house!

Well, I was not lucky enough to find a hot-air balloon house for me to float about in, but I managed to get in a hot-air balloon! It was my very first Hot-air balloon experience and I am absolutely in love with it! Floating about the sky as you lift off higher and higher into the air, the ground below gets smaller and you get a totally new perspective of the view!

We signed up the hot-air balloon ride with the company called Aloft Gold Coast! Honestly, the hot-air balloons they have was not as colourful as I have expected and my overall experience with Aloft was rather average and if iI have to rate them based on my experience I would say its a 5/10, I cannot say it was fantastic nor was it horrible. I paid a total of AUD$230 for a 30 mins ride and it includes transportation from your hotel or the place you are staying at to the hot-air balloon location they also offer a 60 mins ride for an additional price of AUD$30 or so (please check with Aloft website for the specific price), do note that you may have to wake up as early as 3am for the pick-up depending on your hotel location. They also provide a champagne breakfast package which you have to pay an additional AUD$20-AUD$30 (please check with Aloft website for the specific price), will totally recommend for couples who are either celebrating their anniversary or any other special occasion. The Aloft company we signed up the hot-air was discovered by my friend and it was said that they are the only hot-air balloon company in the market in Gold Coast, but later we found out there was another hot-air balloon company when we were at the hot-air balloon location, hence I strongly encouraged and recommend you guys do your homework first! By researching for the best deals around and not be quick in your final choice making like what we did, as I believe there are better deals out there!

The most annoying thing that happened during my hot-air balloon experience with Aloft that really grinds my gear is with a particular employee who was super racist in my opinion! Do let me clarify  what I meant when I say the employee was racist! He was very nice and friendly I must say but the racism comes in when he saw my friend and I who are Chinese and stereotyped my friend and I as Chinese nationals. He passed us an application form that we were required to filled up at the start and it was written in mandarin. Yes, I know that I am Chinese and I have indeed studied Chinese for 10 years or so but to be totally honest both my friend and my mandarin has become very bad after 2-3 years of not seeing nor writing Mandarin. Hence, we asked him for an English form instead as we do not want to fill up an application for we cannot totally understand, what if there were specific rules or any details we need to take note on! Long story short we simply filled up the Chinese written application form as we were only required to fill up our names and another detail I have already forgotten.

However, you guys might be thinking now that I am being a drama queen for labelling him as racist based on that one application form! But No! Throughout the entire time we were with him he spoke to us as if we could not comprehend a single word of English and spoke to us like retards, I understand there were indeed a few Chinese nationals in the tour as well but let me put across that he came and spoke to us individually as well! He even tried to speak to us in Mandarin as he thought that my friend and I only speaks and understands Mandarin and we kinda felt a little offended. Though I understand that he may be trying to be nice and thought that we may feel more comfortable if he spoke in "our language'. However, let me just say we were speaking to him in perfect and clear English but he was very insistent in us just not comprehending or spoke a single word of English! Gosh!

Okay, enough of the rant about that guy allow me get back to the hot-air balloon ride! I really have to  praise the pilot of out hot-air balloon. He was very skilled and even directed us to view certain, scenery in hope that some of might have missed the view! The ride was a very relax and enjoyable one and I strongly recommend yall to try it at least once!

To end off my hot-air balloon review with Aloft, where I must give a heads up for any of you guys out there who have not been on a hot-air balloon tour with any company as I felt that it was a crucial piece of information which I may have needed! We were told to help out in keeping the hot-air balloon! When I heard that I was like " WHAT! I did not pay AUD$230 to help you pack up! Shouldn't this be your job." Not to sound like a brat and all but there were 3-4 employees around to keep the hot-air balloon. In addition, the balloon landed in a muddy field where you can get dirty very very easily, and it was stupid of me to have worn white on that day, and I was also grumpy because I had to wake up at 4am ><
