I have been waiting for the right time to post this. Well, I am giving my thoughts and reviews on the movie Suicide Squad!
*Disclaimer: For those who still have not watched the movie, this post may have spoilers. Proceed and read with caution and also hurry and go watch the movie!*
I watched the movie about two weeks ago with my Nithiyah (One of me Best Friend) , who happened to be a big DC fan as well. Hence, it only made sense that I got to watch this movie with her right?
As far as I know and heard from some of my friends that the movie that was airing is the third edited version and that the first and second version of the movie was way better. Most of my friends who have watched the movie felt that the movie was bad and it was equally bad as the movie Batman VS Superman or Civil War! As they felt that the cinematography was bad and so was the story line. I feel that we kinda have too high of an expectation, which we will be let down at the end when it is not what we expected it to be.
However, I have a different opinion and I actually felt that the movie was super awesome. I mean I know I do not have an eye in the cinematography of a movie but I still hold a certain standard in the movies I choose to watch.
First of all, let us all address the fact that Jared Leto is the most amazing actor ever and I don't know about yall but I felt that he played the role of the Joker perfectly and was on point! I can really feel the madness and the craziness he was emitting, portraying the personalities of the Joker himself. He gives a very refreshing twist to the character and believe me when I say that I was actually terrified of him, and you guys have to admit as well that he plays a rather HOT Joker.
Coming back to the main character that we all came to watch (or at least I did) - Harley Quinn which was played by Margot Robbie. Harley Quinn plays both a villain and a hero in the movie where every sees her as the bad girl who goes around Gotham city with her Puddin (AKA Joker) but throughout the movie she was somewhat forced into playing the hero where she ultimately saved the day. Being forced into madness by the Joker, she gives off a carefree vibe where she simply disregards her life in most situations. In my opinion, this is rather ironic where we all may have noticed that she was dressed rather strict and uptight with her hair tied up neatly and wearing a somewhat formal outfit but after being driven mad she was dressed in cropped shirt and a super short and tight shorts with her iconic red and blue hair. After being brainwashed by the joker she showcased a side of her which I believed she hid it all this while, as there must be a "dark" and mad side buried in her for her to find the Joker appealing and ultimately to fall in love with.
Not forgetting the other iconic characters of the Squad, where they shared the same predicament as Harley. Each individual in the squad possesses a hidden yearn for being the best they can be. Such as Deadshot's yearn to be the father his daughter always wanted or Diablo and KillerCroc's wish to be normal. Each of them has a hidden hero side that wants to be exhibited to compensate what they are flawed in.
All in all, I really enjoy the movie and the storyline. I like the idea of how the ancient enchantress wished to be worshiped like how she was before but highlighted the fact that we humans are worshipping machines instead nowadays. Which is true to a large extent, as in this era we heavily relying on machines and technology to run of daily needs which is kinda sad.
The movie is filled with action, laughs as well as tears to all who watched it.
